This policy explains what personal information Spinel Global collects, how it is used and protected, and the choices you have. We handle your information in line with Sri Lankan law, including the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022.
01Who is responsible
Spinel Global is a brand of Fx Enterprises. Fx Enterprises is responsible for the personal information collected through spinelglobal.com, SPINEL practitioners and points of purchase, and the SPINEL warranty and authenticity service. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Fx Enterprises, trading as Spinel Global.
02Information we collect
- Personal details: your name, email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses.
- Order details: the frames, sunglasses and lenses you order, invoice numbers, order history and delivery or collection arrangements.
- Prescription and fitting details: the prescription and measurements supplied for made-to-order lenses, such as pupillary distance and fitting heights.
- Warranty and authenticity details: warranty numbers or unit serials you enter on our verification page, warranty registration details, and the scan record of a product’s authenticity code (such as scan count and first-scan date).
- Payment information: card payments are handled by our third-party payment gateway. We do not store your card details.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact form, email or phone, including complaints and warranty claims.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser details, and how you use the site.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used to run the shopping cart and checkout, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used (see Section 9).
03How we use your information
- Processing, producing, fitting and delivering your order, and issuing your invoice.
- Making prescription lenses to your prescription and measurements.
- Verifying product authenticity and handling warranty claims, returns and refunds.
- Responding to your enquiries and complaints.
- Sending service messages about your order, collection or delivery.
- Sending news and offers, only where you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
- Improving our products, website and customer experience.
- Preventing fraud, protecting the SPINEL brand from counterfeits, and meeting our legal, tax and regulatory obligations in Sri Lanka.
04Prescriptions and children
Prescriptions. Prescription and fitting details are used only to make, fit and support your lenses. They are shared only with the practitioner fitting your pair and the laboratory producing your lenses, and are never used for marketing.
Children. Orders must be placed by someone aged 18 or over. Products for children, including MyoCare myopia-control lenses, are ordered by a parent or guardian, who provides the child’s details on the child’s behalf.
05Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed:
- Service providers: payment processors, delivery and courier partners, SPINEL practitioners, lens production laboratories, and website hosting, email and IT providers, each only for the service they provide to us.
- Legal authorities: where Sri Lankan law requires it.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition or restructuring of Fx Enterprises.
Some of these providers, such as hosting and analytics services, may process information outside Sri Lanka. Where they do, we use providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
06How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as it is needed to fulfil your order, support your product through its warranty period, and meet our legal, tax and accounting record-keeping obligations. After that it is deleted or anonymised.
07Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections on our website. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
08Your rights
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or update it.
- Ask us to delete it, subject to our legal obligations (for example, invoice records we must keep).
- Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time.
To make a request, email info@spinelglobal.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on it.
09Cookies
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and checkout working, keep you signed in to your account, remember your light or dark display preference, and measure how the site is used through analytics services such as those provided by Google. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features, such as the cart and checkout, may not work properly.
10Third-party links
Our site links to other websites and platforms, including our Instagram and Facebook pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please read their policies.
11Updates to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the law or in how we operate. The current version is always published on this page, with its effective date.
